Terms of Service

Welcome to Sano. These Terms of Service ("Terms," "Agreement," or "ToS") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Sano ("Sano," "we," "our," or "us") governing your access to and use of the Sano mobile application, website, and all related features, content, and services (collectively, the "Service" or "Platform").
By downloading, installing, registering for, or using the Sano app, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and any other policies incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you must immediately cease all use of the Service and uninstall the application.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. You are encouraged to review these Terms periodically to stay informed of any changes.
These Terms form the entire and exclusive agreement between you and Sano with respect to your use of the Service, and supersede and replace any prior agreements, oral or written, between the parties. By accessing or using any part of the Service, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract and that you agree to abide by all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations.
Sano is strictly a platform for adults. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account, access, or use the Service in any capacity. By registering, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older. We reserve the right to request proof of age at any time and to suspend or permanently terminate accounts where age requirements are not met.
The Service is intended for use by individuals in jurisdictions where it is lawfully available. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with all laws and regulations applicable in your country or region. Sano makes no representation that the Service is appropriate or legally available in all locations, and access from jurisdictions where such use is prohibited is not permitted.
Your Sano account is strictly personal and non-transferable. You may not create accounts on behalf of third parties, organizations, or for commercial purposes unless expressly authorized by Sano in writing. Each individual is permitted to maintain only one active account at a time.
To access the full features of Sano, you must create a user account. During registration, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You further agree to maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate and complete at all times. Providing false, misleading, or incomplete information constitutes a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your username and password. You agree to:
• Choose a strong, unique password and not reuse passwords from other services
• Never share your login credentials with any third party
• Log out of your account when using shared or public devices
• Notify Sano immediately at service@sano.support if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account
Sano will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to safeguard your account credentials. Any activity conducted through your account will be deemed to have been authorized by you, whether or not actually performed by you.
Sano may require you to verify your identity, phone number, or email address as part of the registration process or at any subsequent time. We reserve the right to implement additional verification measures, including age verification, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and these Terms.
Each user is permitted to maintain only one active Sano account. Creating multiple accounts, including to circumvent a suspension or ban, is strictly prohibited and will result in the permanent termination of all associated accounts.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Sano grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not include the right to:
• Sublicense, sell, resell, transfer, assign, or otherwise exploit the Service
• Modify, translate, adapt, or create derivative works based on the Service
• Reverse engineer, disassemble, or decompile any part of the Service
• Access the Service through automated means, including bots, scrapers, or crawlers
• Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or unauthorized purpose
Sano provides users with the following core features, subject to availability and your compliance with these Terms:
• Live 1v1 video calls with users featured in the recommendation feed
• Random match functionality for spontaneous video connections with strangers
• In-app text chat for messaging other users
• User profile creation and customization
• Virtual gifting and in-app purchase features
Sano reserves the right to modify, add, suspend, or remove features at any time without prior notice.
Sano does not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times, uninterrupted, or free from error. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Service or any portion thereof at any time for maintenance, updates, technical difficulties, or any other reason, with or without notice. Sano shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience resulting from service interruptions.
All users of the Sano platform are expected to engage in a manner that is respectful, lawful, and consistent with the spirit of our Community Guidelines. You agree to treat all other users with dignity and courtesy. Sano is a global community, and we expect every participant to contribute positively to that community.
You agree that you will not, under any circumstances, use the Service to:
• Harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, bully, or harm any other user or third party
• Transmit, upload, or share any content that is defamatory, obscene, offensive, hateful, or otherwise objectionable
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your identity, age, or affiliation
• Solicit personal information from other users, particularly minors, in an inappropriate or predatory manner
• Engage in any form of scam, fraud, phishing, or deceptive practice
• Advertise, promote, or solicit goods or services without prior written approval from Sano
• Distribute spam, unsolicited messages, or chain communications to other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or Sano's systems
• Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or other harmful software
• Use the platform to engage in, facilitate, or promote any illegal activity
• Record, screenshot, or capture video of another user's content during a live call without their consent
Sano reserves the right to investigate any reported or detected violation of these conduct standards. Upon finding a violation, we may, at our sole discretion:
• Issue a formal warning to the offending account
• Temporarily restrict or suspend account privileges
• Permanently terminate the account without refund of any unused credits or purchases
• Report the activity to relevant law enforcement authorities
• Take legal action to recover damages or enforce our rights
"User-Generated Content" or "UGC" refers to any content that you create, upload, transmit, or share through the Sano platform, including but not limited to: profile photos and videos, text messages and chat content, live video and audio streams, reactions and comments, and any other material you submit or post through the Service.
You retain all ownership rights in the UGC you create. However, by submitting, posting, or sharing any UGC on Sano, you grant Sano a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, modify, adapt, publicly display, and otherwise exploit such content for the purposes of operating, providing, improving, and promoting the Service. This license continues even if you delete specific content or terminate your account, solely to the extent Sano needs it to fulfill its operations and legal obligations.
All UGC must comply with Sano's Community Guidelines and these Terms. You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of any content you submit. You represent and warrant that your UGC:
• Does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
• Does not contain nudity, sexually explicit material, or graphic violence
• Does not constitute harassment, hate speech, or targeted abuse
• Does not include personal information of third parties shared without their consent
• Does not violate any applicable laws, regulations, or court orders
Sano employs a combination of automated moderation technologies and human review teams to monitor UGC on the platform. We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to review, remove, block, or restrict any UGC that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines. We are not liable for any failure to remove violating content or for any actions taken in response to such content.
If you encounter content or behavior that you believe violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines, we encourage you to use the in-app reporting tools. Reports may also be submitted via email to service@sano.support. All reports are reviewed by our moderation team in good faith, and appropriate action will be taken where a violation is confirmed.
If you believe that content on Sano infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice to service@sano.support with the following information: identification of the copyrighted work, identification of the infringing material and its location on Sano, your contact details, a statement of good faith belief that the use is unauthorized, and a declaration under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are the rights owner or authorized to act on their behalf. Sano will respond to valid DMCA notices in accordance with applicable law.
Sano is strictly prohibited from use by individuals under the age of 18. We implement age verification measures during the registration process and continuously monitor for signals of underage users. If we discover or have reasonable cause to believe that a registered user is under the age of 18, we will immediately suspend and permanently delete the associated account along with all data, without prior notice.
Parents and guardians who believe their child has registered on Sano are urged to contact us immediately at service@sano.support. We will take prompt action upon receipt of a verified report.
Sano enforces a strict and absolute zero-tolerance policy toward any content, communication, or behavior related to the sexual abuse or exploitation of children. The following are expressly prohibited on the Sano platform under any and all circumstances:
• Creation, transmission, distribution, storage, or viewing of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any format
• Grooming behavior including any communication designed to establish trust with a minor for the purpose of exploitation
• Soliciting, requesting, or offering sexual content involving individuals who are or appear to be under 18 years of age
• Using Sano to attempt to arrange in-person contact with a minor for exploitative purposes
• Any content that normalizes, glorifies, or encourages the sexual exploitation of minors
Any user found to have engaged in any of the above conduct will have their account immediately and permanently terminated. All relevant information, including account details, communication logs, and device data, will be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the relevant law enforcement authorities in accordance with applicable mandatory reporting laws. Sano cooperates fully with all law enforcement investigations related to CSAE.
Sano is committed to being a platform that is safe for all adults and actively hostile to anyone who would use it to harm or exploit minors. We invest continuously in detection technology, moderation resources, and industry partnerships to ensure the highest standards of child safety are maintained on our platform.
Sano may offer virtual currency (such as coins, gems, or credits) and virtual items (such as gifts, stickers, badges, or premium features) that can be purchased or earned within the Service. Virtual items and currency have no real-world monetary value, are not redeemable for cash, and do not constitute property of the user. All virtual items exist solely within the Sano ecosystem and are subject to these Terms.
You may purchase virtual currency or items through the in-app purchase mechanisms provided by Sano, processed via Google Play Billing or other authorized payment platforms. All purchases are:
• Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable payment platform
• Final and non-refundable except as expressly provided in these Terms or required by applicable law
• Denominated in the local currency associated with your payment account
• Subject to applicable taxes, which will be displayed at the point of purchase where required
To recharge virtual currency within the Sano app, users must navigate to the designated recharge or store section of the app, select a currency package, confirm the transaction via the authorized payment interface, and receive the credited amount in their in-app wallet upon successful payment. Sano does not accept payment via unofficial or third-party channels. Any recharge attempt made outside of the official in-app store is unauthorized and Sano assumes no liability for losses arising from such transactions.
All purchases of virtual currency and in-app items are generally non-refundable. However, Sano may, at its sole discretion, consider refund requests in the following exceptional circumstances:
• Duplicate charges caused by a verified technical error on Sano's part
• Unauthorized purchases where the account owner can demonstrate the transaction was not authorized
• Cases where applicable consumer protection law mandates a refund right
To submit a refund request, contact our support team at service@sano.support with the subject line "Refund Request" and include your account details, transaction ID, and a description of the issue. Requests must be submitted within 14 days of the original transaction. Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 7-14 business days.
Upon voluntary account deletion or termination of your account due to a violation of these Terms, any unused virtual currency or unconsumed virtual items in your account will be forfeited without compensation. Sano is not obligated to provide refunds or compensation for virtual items lost as a result of account suspension or termination caused by a breach of these Terms.
Sano reserves the right to modify, discontinue, or alter the pricing, availability, and attributes of virtual currency and virtual items at any time, with or without prior notice. We are not liable for any loss of value resulting from such changes. Users are advised not to stockpile large quantities of virtual currency beyond their intended near-term use.
If you have a dispute regarding a purchase or charge, please contact us at service@sano.support before initiating a chargeback with your payment provider. Chargebacks initiated without prior contact with Sano support may result in account suspension. Sano will work in good faith to resolve all legitimate purchase disputes in a timely manner.
Your use of the Sano Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Privacy Policy explains in detail how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information. By agreeing to these Terms, you also consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy carefully at any time through the app's Settings menu or by contacting service@sano.support.
All content, features, and functionality of the Sano Service, including but not limited to the application software, user interface design, graphics, logos, trademarks, trade names, icons, text, audio, video, code, and data ("Sano Content"), are the exclusive property of Sano or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws, including copyright, trademark, patent, and trade secret laws. No right, title, or interest in Sano Content is transferred to you as a result of your use of the Service.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any Sano Content without the prior written consent of Sano, except as follows:
• Your device may temporarily store copies of Sano Content in RAM incidental to your access and use
• You may store files automatically cached by your browser for display enhancement purposes
Any unauthorized use of Sano Content may violate copyright, trademark, and other laws.
If you provide Sano with any feedback, suggestions, ideas, or other input regarding the Service ("Feedback"), you grant Sano a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, incorporate, and otherwise exploit such Feedback without any obligation to you or any compensation.
The Sano platform may include links to, or integration with, third-party websites, applications, or services. These third-party services are not under Sano's control, and we are not responsible for their content, privacy policies, practices, or terms of service. The inclusion of any link or integration does not imply endorsement by Sano. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party services you access through or in connection with Sano.
Sano may display advertisements or promotional content within the Service, either from Sano or from third-party advertisers. The display of advertisements does not constitute an endorsement by Sano of the advertised products or services. Any interactions you have with advertised products or services, and any terms or conditions associated with such interactions, are solely between you and the relevant advertiser. Sano accepts no responsibility for the accuracy or legality of third-party advertising content.
You may terminate your Sano account at any time by navigating to Settings > Account > Delete Account within the app, or by contacting our support team at service@sano.support. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Certain provisions of these Terms shall survive termination, including but not limited to Sections related to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution.
Sano reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any of the following reasons:
• Violation of any provision of these Terms or our Community Guidelines
• Fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activity
• Conduct that harms other users, third parties, or Sano
• Discovery that a user does not meet the minimum age requirement
• Extended inactivity on the account
• Any other reason Sano deems sufficient in its sole discretion
Upon account termination for any reason, all licenses granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease. Sano has no obligation to retain your account data, content, or virtual currency following termination. Where termination is due to a breach of these Terms, no refunds will be issued for any unused virtual currency or unexpired premium subscriptions.
THE SANO SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SANO EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
• Any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• Any warranty regarding the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or quality of content available through the Service
• Any warranty that defects in the Service will be corrected
• Any warranty that the Service or the servers that make it available are free of viruses or other harmful components
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so the above exclusions may not apply to you. In such cases, Sano's warranties are limited to the minimum extent required by applicable law.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SANO, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS, SUPPLIERS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY:
• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, business, or goodwill
• Damages arising from your reliance on content or interactions facilitated through the Service
• Damages arising from unauthorized access to or alteration of your account or data
• Damages resulting from any third-party conduct or content on the platform
IN NO EVENT SHALL SANO'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SANO IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sano and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or relating to:
• Your use of, or inability to use, the Service
• Your violation of any provision of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property right or privacy right
• Any UGC you submit to the platform
• Any harm caused by you to another user or third party through the Service
Sano reserves the right to assume exclusive control over the defense of any claim for which you are obligated to indemnify us, and you agree to cooperate fully with such defense at your expense.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to Sano's jurisdiction of incorporation, without regard to conflict of law principles. If you are a resident of the European Union, certain mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law in your country of residence may also apply and are not affected by this choice of law.
Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service through good-faith informal negotiation. You may initiate informal resolution by contacting us at service@sano.support with a written description of the dispute. Sano agrees to respond within 30 days and to negotiate in good faith. Either party may proceed to formal dispute resolution if the matter is not resolved within 60 days of the initial notice.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, any unresolved dispute shall be submitted to binding individual arbitration, conducted by a recognized arbitration institution agreed upon by both parties, in accordance with its then-current rules and procedures. The arbitration shall be conducted in the English language. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.
YOU AND SANO AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. If this waiver is found to be unenforceable for any reason, the entire arbitration provision shall be deemed null and void, and the parties shall resolve their dispute in court.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending the resolution of a dispute. Claims related to intellectual property rights may also be brought before a court.
By creating an account and using the Sano Service, you consent to receive electronic communications from Sano, including emails, push notifications, in-app messages, and other alerts. These communications may include account activity notifications, security alerts, customer support responses, and promotional materials. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time through your account settings or by following the unsubscribe instructions in any promotional email. Note that you may still receive transactional and account-related communications even after opting out of marketing messages.
Sano shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance of its obligations under these Terms to the extent caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government action, pandemic, power outages, internet service disruptions, or failure of third-party service providers. In such events, Sano will use commercially reasonable efforts to resume normal service operations as promptly as possible.
You agree to comply with all applicable export and import laws and regulations. You represent that you are not a citizen or resident of a country subject to trade sanctions or embargoes, and that you are not listed on any government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You agree not to use the Service for any purpose that would violate applicable export control laws, including the development or export of weapons of mass destruction or any other prohibited end-use.
Sano reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, enhance, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service, including features, pricing, and content availability, at any time and for any reason, with or without prior notice. Sano shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service. We will endeavor to provide advance notice of significant changes where reasonably practicable.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and any additional terms applicable to specific features or promotions you participate in, constitute the entire and exclusive agreement between you and Sano with respect to the subject matter hereof, and supersede all prior or contemporaneous negotiations, representations, warranties, agreements, or communications, whether oral or written, between the parties.
If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, it shall be severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
No waiver by Sano of any right or provision of these Terms shall constitute a continuing waiver of such right or provision or a waiver of any other right or provision. Sano's failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not be construed as a waiver of Sano's right to do so in the future.
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without Sano's prior written consent. Sano may freely assign its rights and obligations under these Terms, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or by operation of law. Any attempted assignment in violation of this provision shall be null and void. These Terms shall be binding on and inure to the benefit of the parties and their respective permitted successors and assigns.
Sano reserves the right to update or revise these Terms at any time. When material changes are made, we will:
• Update the Effective Date at the top of this document
• Provide notice within the app via a banner, pop-up, or notification
• Where required by law, seek your affirmative consent before the new terms take effect
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any updated Terms constitutes your binding acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree with the updated Terms, you must discontinue use of the Service and delete your account. Sano encourages you to review these Terms periodically to stay informed of your rights and obligations.
